What notice period applies at Anytime Fitness?
Anytime Fitness clubs work with fixed-term contracts (for example 12 months) and flexible, monthly cancellable memberships. Fixed-term contracts are cheaper per period, but you are tied in for the full term. Check your contract for how the fee is charged: many gyms charge per 4 weeks rather than per calendar month, which means 13 payments a year instead of 12.
When a fixed-term contract ends, it continues automatically for an indefinite period. From that moment Dutch law (the Wet van Dam) applies: you can cancel at any time, with a notice period of no more than one month. Still within the fixed term? Then your membership ends on the earliest possible end date.
Leaving the Netherlands?
Anytime Fitness is a worldwide chain, so whether a move abroad qualifies for early cancellation depends on your contract and on whether there is a club near your new address. Since your contract is with your Dutch home club, cancel there in writing before you leave, add proof of your move — such as your deregistration from the municipality — and keep the proof of receipt.
Careful: blocking the direct debit is not cancelling
Withdrawing your payment authorisation or reversing a direct debit does not end your membership. The instalments keep being charged, and unpaid amounts may be passed to a debt collection agency. The only way to really get out is a provable cancellation.
That is why we send your cancellation registered, and you receive confirmation of receipt. You can always show when you cancelled — even if the club claims to know nothing about it.
How to cancel Anytime Fitness via Opzeggen.nl
Step 1. Fill in your details: name, address and your membership number (on your invoice or in the app), plus the club where you signed up.
Step 2. Tell us the date you want to cancel from. Not sure? We cancel from the earliest possible date.
Step 3. Select any other subscriptions you want to end at the same time.
Step 4. We send the cancellation registered, and you receive the proof of receipt by email.
No front-desk conversation offering you a pause option or a discount. You simply cancel.

Can I cancel several subscriptions at once?
Yes. In the same flow you can also end other subscriptions, such as a streaming service, a magazine or a charity donation. You sign once and we send each cancellation separately — always registered.
